Technical Issues
1: Type Mismatch error during installation
Use the REGIONAL SETTINGS control panel to change the Regional settings, i.e. the location, to ENGLISH (US). Restart the Machine then attempt to install the COD9. Once the installation has finished, the Regional settings can be changed back to the original location.

2: Installation on Windows 2000 and Windows XP
When trying to install the COD9 on Windows 2000 and Windows XP, the following error message may appear
“SETUP1 caused a General Protection Fault in module KRNL386.EXE”
In order to install the
COD9 successfully, the computer needs to be started in SAFEMODE. This can be achieved by pressing <F8> while the machine is restarting. A screen with various startup options will appear. Choose SAFEMODE from the list. Once the
COD9 is installed successfully, the computer can be restarted normally.

3: Conflict with Iomega Zip/Jaz drive
There is a known conflict between the COD9 and IMGICON.EXE, which is the software that creates the Zip or Jaz drive icon in Windows Explorer. The result is that evey time the COD9 is opened, the machine hangs or freezes. To prevent this from happening the IMGICON.EXE will need to be disabled. This can be achieved by removing the IMGICON shortcut usually found in the START | PROGRAMS | STARTUP folder, and restarting the machine. The Zip/Jaz drive will still function fully, the only difference will be that when looking at the Zip/Jaz drive in Windows Explorer, the icon will look like that of an ordinary removable drive, rather than a Zip/Jaz drive.

4: Fonts appear unreadable, in Greek or as boxes
This happens because the COD9 fonts have become corrupt or damaged, or are simply missing from the computer. To correct this problem, delete the COD9 fonts from the computer using the FONTS Control panel. Check also that none of these fonts are found in the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM folder, deleting them if necessary. Restart the computer, and install the COD9 fonts from the SYS folder on the COD9 CD-ROM.
