Technical Issues
1: DNB prints incomplete articles, or none at all
This is a known problem for which there is a patch available.
Download the following file DNB.ZIP.
Extract the file DNB.EXE and copy it to your hard disk overwriting the existing file,
usually located in C:\DNB
The patch is also available on floppy disk from UK Customer Service.

2: Font/display appear incorrectly
If the font appears in Greek or small boxes, then choose to use a different font from with DNB.
Go to TEXT menu | FONT... Choose a font and size and click OK

3: Installation problems
It is possible to install the DNB manually following the steps below:

Copy the contents of the CD to a folder on the hard disk, e.g. C:\DNB

Right-click on the file DNB.INI in the C:\DNB folder. Choose PROPERTIES from the menu and un-check the box READ-ONLY. click OK

Double-click on the file C:\DNB\DNB.INI
|
|

Change the line starting DISK=F, to say the letter of the CD-ROM drive. Save the file and attempt to open the DNB program by double-clicking on the C:\DNB\DNB.EXE file.

4: Removing the DNB from the computer
Follow the steps below:

Delete the DNB folder on the hard disk
|

Delete the DNB.INI file, usually found in the WINDOWS folder

Using Windows Notepad delete the following section from the WIN.INI file:
[DNB]
dir=C:\DNB

Delete the following DNB fonts using the FONTS control panel
- Arial Small Caps OUP Regular
- Arial OUP
- Arial OUP BOLD
- Arial OUP BOLD Italic
- Arial OUP Italic
- Plantin Bold OUP
- Plantin OUP
- Plantin Bold Italic OUP
- Plantin Italic OUP
- Plantin Small Caps OUP
- OUPdnb0
- OUPdnb1

5: The DNB on Windows 2000 and XP
The installation script for the DNB is not compatible with Windows 2000 or XP. To install the DNB on these platforms please contact UK Customer Service for an updated installation CD. There is a replacement CD-ROM charge of £25, and the old disk should be returned to Customer Service. Alternatively try the manual installation in Technical Issue 3
