1: Setup does not recognize the correct version of Internet Explorer

During installation of the original Green and Purple CD-ROM, the setup automatically detects the version of Internet Explorer installed on the machine.
If Internet Explorer version 6 orabove is installed, the setup incorrectly detects that an older version is installed and so willprompt for the installation of IE4.01. To by pass this process, and continue installing Mentor Plus the following patch is needed. Instructions for installation are included within the appropriate zipped file.

2: Cannot find *.MDB databases

This error message appears when opening the Mentor Plus software because the paths to the databases are set incorrectly. To fix this problem, use the steps below to change the path settings to the correct location.

[1] Go to START | SETTINGS | CONTROL PANEL double-click on the ODBC icon.
[2] Click on SYSTEM DSN tab.
[3] From the list of SYSTEM DATA SOURCES: select the appropriate database and click the CONFIGURE... button
[4] In the DATABASE section, click the SELECT... button.
[5] Navigate to the mapped network drive for the Mentor Plus server, select the appropriate .MDB file and click OK.
[6] Click OK to close the ODBS MICROSOFT ACCESS 97 SETUP and ODBC DATA SOURCE ADMINISTRATOR windows

3: Problems adding or editing User information, PILs headers/footers or annotating diagrams with the built-in HTML editor

A patch has been created which fixes the problems with the built-in HTML editor, DHTML-OCX.EXE. In order to prevent problems arising in the future, it is strongly recommended that all the patches and updates are installed from the Supplementary CD-ROM that came with the software.

4: Unable to print whole articles, only headers and footers

When trying to print an article, only the headers and footers are printed and not the body of the article. This bug has been fixed by the software patch
Shell Upgrade App 33 which is available on the Supplementary CD-ROM that came with the software. In order to prevent problems arising in the future, it is strongly recommended that all the patches and updates are installed from the Supplementary CD-ROM.

5: Unable to print when Internet Explorer 5.0 is installed

If the software patch Shell Upgrade App 33 has been installed, printing problems may still arise if the version of Internet Explorer is not upgraded to at least version 5.5.

6: Unable to print to a non default printer

This is a bug caused by the version of Internet Explorer installed on the machine. It takes the form of only being able to print to the default printer, so if more than one printer is set up on the system, Mentor Plus is not able to print to any other printer except the default printer. A patch has been developed to fix this problem, Shell Upgrade App 33 is available on the Supplementary CD-ROM that came with the software. In order to prevent problems arising in the future, it is strongly recommended that all the patches and updates are installed from the Supplementary CD-ROM.

7: Unable to print more than one article

This bug is caused by the version of Internet Explorer installed on the machine. The symptoms are that once an article has been printed, no other articles can be sent to any printer. A patch has been developed to fix this problem,
Shell Upgrade App 33 is available on the Supplementary CD-ROM that came with the software. In order to prevent problems arising in the future, it is strongly recommended that all the patches and updates are installed from the Supplementary CD-ROM.
