This book has been written to help de-mystify endodontology and endodontics, principally for the undergraduate dental student. It has a very straightforward style and is divided into three clear, related sections: A) theory; B) practice; C) self assessment. Sections A and B are linked with colour coding to help the reader switch between the two.
The practical chapters are predicated on the fact that effective assessment at the undergraduate level is dependent upon engagement with and use of criteria. The text goes some way in defining these and encourages the reader to generate their own, in an informed way.
The section on self-assessment provides a key to effective learning by asking the reader to engage in the solution of clinically-related problems.
The book does not pretend to supercede highly regarded academic texts on the subject; rather, it hopes to provide an easily accessible introduction to this fascinating and crucial aspect of clinical dentistry.
