Craig Chaudron, 1946-2006

As some of you have heard, our friend and colleague Craig Chaudron died unexpectedly on August 21.

Craig contributed to Applied Linguistics journal in many capacities. He served as the journal's North American editor, as member of the Editorial Panel, and most recently as the AAAL representative on the Advisory Board. Despite his many responsibilities at the University of Hawai'i and in the applied linguistics community nationally and worldwide, he generously reviewed manuscripts for Applied Linguistics and consistently provided authors and editors with insightful and detailed reports. Craig was deeply committed to excellence in applied linguistic scholarship and the journal benefited substantially from his vast knowledge and methodological rigor.

An obituary will be published in the December issue of Applied Linguistics Journal.
