About Literature at Oxford

Welcome to the Oxford University Press Literature pages. Oxford publishes one of the most prestigious literature lists in the world. With over 1,000 titles in print we can offer a range and level of scholarship equalled by few other publishers.

The Literature list has a broad remit, from high-profile scholarly editions - such as the Oxford Shakespeare series, the Pilgrim edition of the letters of Charles Dickens, and the Oxford English Texts editions of writers such as Oscar Wilde, Robert Browning, and John Clare - to the very best of current research in the academy and the latest works from many of the most respected names in the field. We also publish a number of prestigious academic reference volumes and series, such as the Oxford Companion to Chaucer and Italian Literature and our major new series launched in 2002: the Oxford English Literary History.

More information on these and many other titles will be available from the website over the coming months. Please subscribe to our Oxford Literature E.News service, for a monthly e-mail bulletin keeping you informed of new books in your area, current catalogues, articles, news, and special offers, or continue to browse our website on the links below.

OUP is committed to the support and dissemination of scholarship and learning. We publish the very best scholarly works from all over the world, balancing commercial and scholarly aims to offer our authors and readers excellent and innovative publishing. We aim to be as well known for the good ways in which we work with our authors as we are for the quality of the books we publish.
