Technical Issues
1: Printing graphics
Although text prints correctly on Windows NT4, it has been reported that Microfit is unable to print graphics, e.g. flowcharts. Unfortunately it has not been possible to fix this problem, but it is expected that the new Microfit version 5.0 will not have this problem.

2: Compatibility with later versions of Windows
Unfortunately problems have been reported when running Microfit on Windows NT4, 2000 and ME. These problems are due to the fact that Microfit was developed as 16-bit software. There is a 32-bit version of Microfit 4.1 available, please contact
UK Customer Service for details of upgrading.

4: Unable to open files with path longer than 72 characters
The number of characters used in the full path name for the location of a file has to be 72 characters or less for Microfit to be able to locate it.
For example the file located in the following folder structure cannot be opened
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ADMINISTRATOR\MY DOCUMENTS\DATA TO 2003Q4 FOR REESTIMATION.FIT
But the same file with the same filename can be opened if located in the following folder structure where the total number of characters used in the full path name is less than 72.
C:\DOCS\ADMINISTRATOR\MY DOCUMENTS\DATA TO 2003Q4 FOR REESTIMATION.FIT

5: Error message - Unable to write to Microfit.ini
Microfit needs access to the system file microfit.ini ever time the program is closed. If it cannot save to this file the program will not close and is stuck in a loop with the error message shown above. This occurs when logged into the computer with User or Limited User permissions in Windows 2000 or XP.
