Technical Issues

1:		Unable to copy and paste text whilst the OHDv2 is open

1: Unable to copy and paste text whilst the OHDv2 is open

Whilst the OHDv2 is open, the "Watch clipboard and respond to double-clicks" feature will take anything copied to the Windows Clipboard and try to search on it. This means that if you have the OHDv2 open in the background whilst trying to edit a document, each time you use the Ctrl C keyboard shortcut, or the COPY menu item, the OHDv2 will try to search for the word or phrase you are copying. This is only a problem when there is more than one entry in the OHDv2 for the word it is trying to search for. When this happens the OHDv2 brings up a small window showing the list of possible choices for that particular word. It is this window that prevents any further clipboard activity because the OHDv2 is waiting for a response, i.e. waiting for a word from the list to be selected so it can complete the search.

To get around this problem it is best to switch the "Watch clipboard and respond to double-clicks" feature off using the OPTIONS button. Words can still be searched for within the OHDv2 by right-clicking on the search box and selecting PASTE from the menu, to paste text straight into the OHDv2.

2: Unable to enter accented characters or use the accent palette

This problem occurs when the language setting for non-Unicode programs is set to a language containing non-Western characters, such as Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian etc. It is possible to change this language setting by going the START | CONTROL PANEL | REGIONAL AND LANGUAGE OPTIONS icon | ADVANCED tab, but changing this setting may affect the use of other programs on the computer.
