How to hire carol accompanimentsNotes on hiring
In order to avoid delays at Christmas please place your hire order for carol orchestrations in writing as early as possible. Only written, faxed, or e-mailed orders only can be accepted.
Priority for orders is established by the date we receive them, not by the date of performance.

PLEASE NOTE
Orders received after 15 November in any year will be charged at a higher rate than those placed before that date.

What information do I need to give when placing an order?
There is certain essential information that we need before we can process your order. To save time and to speed up the ordering process please ensure that your order contains the following:

- Exactly what you require - please give as much information as you can, especially taking care to quote the carol index number
- The individual string numbers you require (if applicable)
- The date that you require the material (and first rehearsal date if known)
- The delivery address, and the invoice address (if different to the delivery address)
- Your contact telephone number
Other information that you should be aware of
- All hire orders for carol materials for Christmas each year should be placed by 30 November - due to occasional stock limitations OUP cannot guarantee to supply orders received after that date.
- Material may be collected by prior arrangement from our Oxford address.
- We use the CityLink courier service to deliver the majority of our orders. They require a signature on delivery, so please ensure that there will be someone available to sign for the parcel.

How to read the carol accompaniments table
Where the word ‘Banks’ appears in the second column, leaflets are only available from the Oxford Music on Demand service.
Each item represents a different arrangement, and parts cannot be interchanged.
Orchestrations are shown numerically to correspond with the traditional layout of an orchestral score, thus: 2.2.2.2-4.3.3.1-timp.hp-str indicates an orchestra comprising double woodwind, 4 horns, 3 trumpets, 3 trombones, tuba, timpani, harp, and strings. Less commonly used instruments are shown by appropriate abbreviations within the numerical framework. (• ) indicates that the item may be performed with strings only. ‘Uspecified instrumentation’ indicates the provision of parts for soprano, alto, tenor, and bass instruments, doubling the voice parts.
