Julia Clarke
Julia Clarke left school at 16 and worked in a library because she loves books.
After gaining a Certificate of Education at Goldsmith's College, London, she
took a post-graduate course and worked in the theatre as an actress and writer.
After six adult novels, Julia started writing for teenagers, setting herself
the challenge of creating a story which her son and daughter would enjoy as
much as the soaps on TV!
Julia has had several teenage novels published, all of which have been praised
for their distinctive narrative voice and emotional impact. Her latest novel
Chasing Rainbows, tells the story of Rose, who's so engrossed in organising her mum's love life that she fails to notice what's going on in her own!
In 1999 Julia was awarded a distinction in a Creative Writing MA from The University
of Leeds. She lives in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
