Edward Eager
Edward Eager first began writing children's stories when he was searching for
books to read to his young son.
Oxford is proud to publish four Edward Eager titles, illustrated by Quentin Blake OBE: Half Magic, Knight's Castle, The Time Garden, and Magic by the Lake.
In each of his books Edward Eager carefully acknowledges his indebtedness to E Nesbit, whom he considered the best children's writer of all time. A playwright and lyricist, Eager died in 1964 at the age of fifty-three.
