Welcome to the geog.123 website. Here you'll find material to support geog.123 - the complete geography course for KS3.

The website contents
For each chapter of the pupil's book, you will find a quiz and a case study.

The quizzes
Quizzes are fun - and educational. They are a useful revision tool. The questions are drawn randomly from a question bank, so your pupils will get a different set of questions each time they attempt a quiz.

The case studies
These are designed to be interesting, informative, and at an appropriate level. They directly support the QCA Scheme of Work. See for example A tale of two cities, Mother Shipton's Cave, Crimebusters, and Who'd be a refugee?.

They also support the entire KS3 Programme of Study in a very important way. They provide many opportunities for your pupils to carry out focused Internet enquiries, some combined with practice in other ICT skills.

You will find the activity sheets for the Internet enquiries on the geog.123 CD-ROMs, along with further suggestions for using the case studies.

Together, the case studies and activity sheets will enable your pupils to use the Internet with enjoyment, and clear objectives, and without feeling lost or overwhelmed.

A small selection of hotlinks is provided with each case study. These are rated for level of difficulty. You may want to check them out in advance. You may also want to provide your pupils with additional Internet addresses, or encourage them to use a search engine.

Access to the geog.123 website
Within both the geog.1 and geog.2 sections of the website there are two topics that are accessible to everyone. But for full access to all material you and your pupils will need a password. You will find this on the geog.123 CD-ROMs.

For further information about the geog.123 teacher's CD-ROMs, please phone Oxford University Press Customer Services, on Tel: 44 01536 741068.

We hope you and your pupils will enjoy using these materials.
