The material within each Students’ Book is differentiated into three main levels, with each page being coded by ‘molecules’ according to the demands it places on the student. This means that one resource caters for all students whatever their ability. Questions on each page are clearly coded for differentiation.

Each chapter in the Students’ Books contains a number of practicals, distinguished by their bold colour-coded borders. These distinctive pages allow you to plan your lessons and resources more effectively. Biology, physics and chemistry pages are colour-coded throughout for ease of identification should you wish to teach by subject specialism.

Book 3 of World of Science provides exactly the kind of material teachers have asked for to ensure the success of their students in the National Tests. Course summaries can be used as a check-list to record areas covered or to identify those which may require more work. They are also an ideal revision resource as they provide a brief summary of key knowledge.

Extension activities are provided at the end of Book 3 for use in the summer term of Year 9. The focus is on longer, more open-ended project work that offers stability and progression in an often disrupted term.

Self tests - differentiated into Foundation and Higher levels, these provide crucial practice in test style, and help build students’ confidence prior to the real thing.
