The Oxford University Press Reading Room offers scholars and students the opportunity to sample chapters and other extracts from a wide range of its new publications. This is a free service designed to help you choose Oxford books, in a wide range of scholarly disciplines, that you will wish to read and to buy.

Each chapter is linked to its main entry in the OUP catalogue and bookshop to help you order the title if you wish.

Please note that the books are presented as PDF files, and that you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader (Version 3 or higher) in order to read them. If you don't have the reader it can be downloaded free of charge from Adobe in the US or Adobe in the UK.
