I know what I'm looking for. How do I find it?

If you know the title, author, or ISBN of the product you are searching for, just enter it in the search box on the upper right hand side of your screen. This search box is a general search—matching title, author, keywords, ISBN and other data. For example, if you'd like to find an english dictionary, type english dictionary in the search box and click on the go button or hit your Enter key. Results for your search will appear on the screen.

As this is a general search, you'll note that several products are returned in your results. To help you distinguish between these products, we've included the product type (e.g. ( Book catalogue entry)).

When you find the product in which you are interested, click on the title to go to a page describing the item. To purchase the item, click on the appropriate Add to basket button to place the item in your shopping cart. You can remove items from your shopping cart before you check out.

You may also search for products using our Catalogue search. Here you can search our Book/Electronic & Online Products and Printed Music catalogues by author/composer, title, ISBN, and or publication date. You can also conduct a general catalogue search across all our online catalogues using the Quick Search form.

Catalogue Search

This allows you to search by title, author/composer, ISBN and Publication date.

Entering a title (e.g. later & crusades) – you can either enter the complete title or just one or more words from the title.

Entering an author/composer (e.g. housley) – if you are looking for books by a particular author, you can search on that author’s name.

Entering an ISBN: (e.g. 0198221363)– search by ISBN (without hyphens) or partial ISBN: 0198221363 or 822136

Entering a publication date (e.g. November 1999 ) – you can either enter a specific publication date: 25 November 1999 or November 1999 for all titles published in a month.

Ordering Your Search Results

Relevancy - Best Matches
The search finds items that most closely match the words and phrases in your query and lists them in this order.

Alphabetical by Title
Whichever fields you have entered in the search screen, you can choose to have the results ordered alphabetically by title, either A - Z or Z - A.

Ordering by Publication date
Whichever fields you have entered in the search screen, you can choose to have the results ordered by publication date.
