OUP Warehouse Move (Operation SWaPP)

The Distribution Services move from Corby to its new location in Kettering was completed over the Christmas 2010 break, with all stock (28 million books) now in place at the new site.

The activity over the Christmas break included moving all staff and their equipment, setting up all the new hardware, system and communications fit out and moving critical stock to ensure that we could commence distributing orders from the new site on January 4th.

Despite the adverse weather conditions, all went well and we commenced order fulfilment a day earlier than expected on January 3rd. The backlog of work accumulated between December 23rd and January 4th, when we suspended business in order to move premises, has now also been cleared and normal service levels are being maintained.
